flaik was founded in November, 2005 in Brisbane, Australia with the twin goals of improving risk management within ski schools through the world while enabling skiers and boarders to track their performance and compare it with friends.
Since then, flaik has grown to 12 staff internationally operating in offices in Boulder (Colorado, USA), Brisbane (Queensland, Australia), and Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada).
In 2008, flaik secured contracts with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation and Copper Mountain Inc., two major Colorado resorts owned by Intrawest, to deploy mandatory tracking solutions within their ski schools.
Over the last 12 months, flaik has received a number of design accolades including the Australian International Design Award of the Year and an iF Product Design Award.
flaik has also been included in the permanent product design collection at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, Australia as an outstanding example of Australian innovation in design and development.
